A research-driven journey into Operation Avalanche, the Allied landings at Salerno in September 1943, created for military history enthusiasts as well as descendants of the soldiers who fought here.
Together with historians and local experts, we reconstruct the battle through military records, regimental diaries, maps and first-hand accounts, then take that research into the landscape — tracing landing beaches, defensive lines, battle positions, mountain passes and places where decisive encounters unfolded.
For those following a family story, the journey can begin with a name, photograph or letter and become a deeply personal investigation. For history enthusiasts, it offers the opportunity to read the battlefield through the terrain, connecting strategy and military documents with what can still be seen today.
